MHT CET 2026 PCM Answer Key OUT: Download Session 1 Key, Response Sheet and Raise Objections
The State CET Cell, Maharashtra, has now released the MHT CET 2026 PCM answer key for Session 1. Along with this, the response sheet for each student and the objection tracker have also been made live. This is a big step in the exam process for engineering aspirants.
With the answer key and response sheet, students can finally check how many questions they got right. They can also estimate their probable score much before the official result. In addition, if they find any clear mistake in the answer key, they can raise an objection through the online system.
Official Websites and Key Dates for MHT CET PCM 2026
It is very important to use only official websites. This way you stay safe from fake links and wrong answer keys. The State CET Cell always shares all links on its main portal first, then on the individual exam pages.
You should also know the key dates. This includes the answer key release date, the last date for objections, and the expected result date. Knowing these dates helps you plan and act on time.

How to Use Answer Key and Response Sheet to Calculate Marks
Once you have both files, you can start checking your performance. This part is very useful, because you can get a fair idea of your score and your chances for cutoff.
The response sheet shows the options you marked in the exam. The answer key shows the correct options for each question. When you compare both, you can count how many answers are right or wrong.
MHT CET 2026 PCM Marking Scheme (Expected Pattern)
| Paper | Questions | Marks per Question | Total Marks | Negative Marking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mathematics | 50 | +2 | 100 | No |
| Physics | 50 | +1 | 50 | No |
| Chemistry | 50 | +1 | 50 | No |
| Total (PCM) | 150 | — | 200 | No |
A simple way to calculate:
- Count correct Maths answers, multiply by 2.
- Count correct Physics answers, multiply by 1.
- Count correct Chemistry answers, multiply by 1.
- Add all three numbers to get your total marks out of 200.
Since there is no negative marking, you do not subtract marks for wrong answers. However, you should still mark them, so you know which topics need more revision.
MHT CET 2026 PCM Objection Tracker: How to Challenge Questions
Sometimes, students and teachers find mistakes in the provisional answer key. For example, two options may look correct, or a question may be wrong. In such cases, the objection tracker is very important. It lets you send your challenge to the exam body.
The State CET Cell gives a fixed time window for objections. Also, there is usually a fee per question, which may be refunded if your challenge is found to be correct.
How to Use the Objection Tracker (General Steps):
- Login at the MHT CET PCM candidate portal
- Click on “Objection for Answer Key” or similar link
- Select the question number you want to challenge
- Choose the reason and write a short explanation
- Upload supporting proof, like textbook page or expert solution
- Pay the objection fee per question (online payment)
- Submit the form and download the acknowledgement
You must give clear and strong reasons. Just writing “my answer is right” is not enough. Also, always note the last date and time for objections, because the portal closes after that.
What Happens After Objections: Final Key, Result and Rank
After the objection window closes, experts check all challenges. Then they decide which answers need correction. After that, the State CET Cell releases a final answer key. No more objections are accepted at that stage.
The MHT CET 2026 PCM result is prepared using this final key only. Your marks, rank, and merit list are all based on it. Therefore, the objection process is a serious step in making the exam fair.
Next, the CET Cell will publish:
- Individual scorecards with marks in each subject
- A merit list for PCM group
- Details about counselling (CAP rounds) and cutoff for engineering colleges
So, after checking your rough score using the answer key, you should start reading about MHT CET counselling, college options and last year cutoffs. This will help you use your result in the best possible way.
