NEET City Intimation Slip 2026

Many NEET 2026 students are hearing about the “NEET City Intimation Slip 2026” for the first time. Because of this, there is some confusion. Some think it is the admit card. Others are not sure how to use it.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started giving this extra paper for NEET in recent years. It comes before the admit card. Therefore, it is important to know what it is and how it is different from the real NEET admit card.

What Is NEET City Intimation Slip 2026?

In this section, we will understand the basic meaning. Then you will see why this slip is useful.

The NEET City Intimation Slip 2026 is a small document that shows the exam city where you will write the NEET 2026 exam. It is also called the city slip. NTA uploads it on the official website neet.nta.nic.in a few days before the admit card.

NEET City Slip 2026 – Key Points

Point Detail
Shows Exam city, exam date, exam shift
Does not show Full exam centre name and full address
Issued by National Testing Agency (NTA)
Website https://neet.nta.nic.in
Purpose To help you plan travel and stay

So, the city slip is like an early alert. It tells you in which city you will write the exam. However, it is not the final entry pass.

Why Does NTA Release NEET City Slip Before Admit Card?

Now, you may ask, “Why not give only the admit card?” The answer is linked to travel and planning.

Many NEET aspirants come from different towns and villages. Some must travel to big cities like Delhi, Mumbai or state capitals for the exam. So, they need time to book train tickets, bus tickets, or rooms.

Therefore, NTA:

  • First releases the city slip, so students know the city.
  • Later releases the admit card, which has the full centre address.

In this way, students can plan travel early and still get detailed centre information closer to the exam date.

How to Download NEET City Intimation Slip 2026 at neet.nta.nic.in

In this part, we will see how to get the city slip once NTA uploads it. The steps are simple, but you must enter your details correctly.

Step-by-step Download Process

  1. First, open a web browser on your mobile or computer.
  2. Then type neet.nta.nic.in in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. On the home page, look for a link such as
“NEET (UG) 2026 City Intimation Slip” or “Advance Intimation of Exam City”.
  4. Next, click on that link. A login page will appear.
  5. Enter your NEET 2026 Application Number.
  6. Then enter your Date of Birth or Password, as asked.
  7. Type the security pin (captcha) shown on the screen.
  8. After that, click on the “Submit / Login” button.
  9. Your City Intimation Slip will open as a PDF.
  10. Finally, download it and, if needed, print a copy.

If the site is slow, wait for a few minutes and try again. Do not use random links sent on social media.

Difference Between NEET City Slip and NEET Admit Card

This section is very important. Many students mix these two documents. But they are different and used at different times.

NEET City Slip vs NEET Admit Card – Clear Comparison

Feature NEET City Intimation Slip 2026 NEET 2026 Admit Card
Shows Exam city, date, shift Full centre name, full address, roll no, photo
Used for Travel and stay planning Entry to exam centre
Required at exam gate Usually not mandatory Mandatory to carry
Release time Earlier (before admit card) Later (close to exam date)
Extra details Basic info only Detailed instructions and rules

So, the city slip helps you plan, but the admit card lets you enter. You cannot go to the exam hall with only the city slip. You must carry the admit card.

What If Exam City Is Different from Your First Choice?

Sometimes, students see a different city on the city slip than the one they wanted. This can be worrying. However, it is not always a mistake.

NTA tries to give centres near your first choice city, but:

  • If there are too many students in one city,
  • Or not enough centres in that place,

then NTA may allot a nearby city.

If the city is very far or there is a clear issue, you can:

  • Call the NTA helpline number given in the information bulletin.
  • Send an email with your application number, name, and screenshot of the city slip.

Even so, in most cases, city allotment does not change. So, you should plan your travel early based on the city slip.
