NEET UG Counselling 2025: Round 1 Seat Allotment Result Postponed

August 9, 2025 | New Delhi – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has postponed the NEET UG 2025 Round 1 seat allotment result. The result, which was first expected today, will now be announced on August 11, 2025. This change comes after multiple extensions in the choice filling and locking window, which were made to help more students complete the process on time.
Late-night updates further revealed that MCC received many requests from NRI and CW applicants. In addition, some ongoing court cases also affected the schedule, and therefore, the decision was taken to revise the timeline.
Revised Schedule for NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 1
Event | Date & Time |
---|---|
Choice Filling Extended | August 8 (6:30 PM) to August 9 (11:59 PM) |
Choice Locking | August 9 (6:00 PM to 11:59 PM) |
Seat Allotment Result | August 11, 2025 |
Reporting to College | August 11 to 18, 2025 |
Important: Students must complete choice locking before the given deadline. Otherwise, they will not be eligible for seat allotment.
Why NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 1 Delay Matters
The delay has happened mainly due to technical issues on MCC’s online portal. Moreover, there was a rise in registration problems, which caused extra stress for many students. As a result, MCC extended the deadlines more than once, but finally decided to postpone the result date.
Furthermore, this extra time gives MCC a better chance to check the seat matrix carefully and settle pending court cases. Therefore, the final allotment list is expected to be more accurate and fair for all students.
