XAT 2026 Registration Deadline Extended Till December 11; MBA, PGDM Exam on January 3
XAT 2026 Registration Extended: What Students Must Know
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2026 registration deadline has now been extended till December 11, 2025. Earlier, the last date was November 30. However, many students requested more time. Therefore, XLRI Jamshedpur decided to extend the window.
Because of this extension, more students can now apply for MBA and PGDM programmes offered by XLRI and over 1,000+ B-schools across India.
Moreover, the exam will be held on January 3, 2026, as planned. So, students must register quickly and start preparing in a calm and steady way.
XAT 2026 Important Dates
Here is a clear and simple table for quick reading:
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Registration Deadline (Extended) | December 11, 2025 |
| Admit Card Release | December 20, 2025 (Expected) |
| XAT 2026 Exam Date | January 3, 2026 |
| Result Announcement | Last Week of January 2026 (Expected) |
Since the dates are very close, students must complete the online form on time. Also, they should check their email often, because updates will be sent there.
Why This Extension Is Important
This extension is very important because many students missed the earlier deadline. Some students had internet issues. Some waited for school or college documents. Few were still deciding about MBA or PGDM.
Therefore, with this new date, students now get 11 more days to complete the form. This helps ensure that no student loses a chance due to small delays.
Furthermore, MBA admissions through XAT are highly competitive. Every year, more than 1.2 lakh students take the exam. So, applying on time matters a lot.
XAT 2026 Exam Pattern
The exam will be conducted in online mode. It is known for testing thinking skills rather than speed. Below is the official pattern:
| Section | Number of Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Verbal & Logical Ability | 26 | |
| Decision Making | 21 | |
| Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation | 28 | |
| General Knowledge | 25 | |
| Total | 100 MCQs + GK | 190 minutes |
Since the paper is long, students must practice reading and solving simple and clear questions every day.
XAT 2026 Marking Scheme
- +1 mark for every correct answer
- –0.25 mark for wrong answers
- –0.10 mark penalty after 8 unattempted questions
Because negative marking is strict, students must answer only when they are sure.
